Couple of days back ....for that matter it was on the eve of Valentine's day we decided to hit the highway again. So..... the next day, our love for the highway, had us headed out towards the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh. I've always looked forward to being in this wonderful state .
DELHI - MURTHAL - CHANDIGARH - PARWANOO - TIMBERTRAIL
We started early ... wanted to beat the traffic .....and sure did enjoy the nice early morning chill in the air!!
Had breakfast at Murthal... You'll have quite a few options of eating places ... like Sukhdev, Gulshan, Zhilmil etc.
After having tasty Gobhi parathas it was time for us to head straight towards our destination..... Chandigarh!
Rock Garden
Another place to visit.... very close to Rock Garden... Sukhna Lake
Couldn't believe that in just a matter of couple of hours..... we'd left the plains of Delhi and were at the foothills of the Himalayas!!
Pinjore Gardens... another place to visit !!
Remember you can't use plastic carrybags in HP
And we entered into the beautiful state of Himachal Pradesh.
Timber Trail , Parwanoo
On our way back to Delhi we took the newly built Chandigarh- Parwanoo bypass road.
It sure is a wonderful experience to drive upon it.Saves a lot of time.
Realizing that we'd made it back to Chandigarh well in time we decided to head back straight to Delhi......Wanted to practice for our upcoming road trip- (Road trip from Delhi to Goa..... Goa in the monsoons )
On the way stopped at Havelli( in Karnal) ... however would like to mention here that we did not enjoy the snacks we had here.
