BEAT D HEAT ...CHILL IN D MOUNTAINS IN D KUMAON REGION... Must visit places in Uttrakhand!

Hello everyone...



Peak summer time is here... everyone wants to head to the mountains, so thought of updating you all with the details of a few wonderful places in Uttrakhand's kumaon region in India  that you all can visit during the summer.... to beat the heat !!





Places to be covered will be...

• Nainital
• Kausani
• Binsar
• Mukteshwar
• Ranikhet
• Chilliyanaula

Here I'd like to suggest that if you want to cover all the above mentioned locations in one go..... it would be convenient for you to stay somewhere midway between all these locations which can be Ranikhet or Chilliyanaula(a small quite place near Ranikhet) . 



NAINITAL

This is a beautiful hill station which has a nice pleasant weather in the summer, maximum temperature is around  27 °C (81 °F) and receives snowfall during the winter season.


Distance between New Delhi and Nainital via NH 24

• Around -300 kms
• Travel time -around 6h 30mins

Here I'd like to mention that you can make a one night halt at Jim Corbett National Park, which would be on the way... it sure is worth a visit!

Ranikhet

This is a small sleepy hill station  which is  the base for the Kumaon regiment. 
this place is spread over rolling green meadows and pine trees around where one can go for nice long walks.

Distance between New Delhi and Ranikhet

• Around - 355 kms
• Travel time -around 7h 30 mins

Distance between  Ranikhet and Chilliyanaula

• Around - 4 kms
• Travel time -around 7 mins

Binsar

Binsar is a hill station which has a wildlife sanctuary. It will be a long drive all the way up the mountain through narrow winding roads , however you will have to buy tickets to drive up. The views from the mountain top are breathtaking... I must say !

• Around - 405 kms
• Travel time -around 8h 30mins

Distance between Ranikhet and Binsar

• Around - 75 Kms
• Travel time - around 1h 30 mins

Kausani

This is a beautiful picturesque hill station also called  the "Mini Switzerland" of India.

Distance between New Delhi and Kausani

• Around - 415 Kms
• Travel time - around 8h 30 mins

Distance between Ranikhet and Kausani

• Around -60 Kms
• Around 1h

  


Mukteshwar

This is another destination that one can explore. There isn't much to do here except go for long nature walks , which in itself is an experience.

• Around -340 Kms
• Around 8h

Distance between Ranikhet and Mukteshwar

• Around -80 Kms
• Around 2h 15 mins
